Concussion Management
What is a Concussion?
Concussion is a complex injury which can impact sports, work and studies. I provide expert assessment and evidence based treatment to help athletes and active individuals return to the things they enjoy safely.
What Is Concussion Management?
Concussion is more than just a “knock to the head.” It can present in a lot of different ways, affecting memory, balance, concentration, and overall wellbeing.
While for most people symptoms will settle on their own within a week or two, some experience symptoms which last longer. Left unmanaged, this can delay return to school, work or sport and increase the risk of further injury.
I provide specialist medical assessment, structured recovery plans, and ongoing monitoring to ensure every patient receives the right care at the right time. Drawing on my experience in elite sport and academic research, I deliver concussion management that is safe, clear, and tailored to your needs — helping you return to sport, study, or work with confidence.

FAQs
Q: How long does recovery from concussion usually take?
Recovery times vary considerably and no two concussions are alike. While most concussion symptoms will resolve within the first 2-4 weeks, a proportion will take longer.
In those cases, active management is the most effective way ensure you recover promptly. With specialist guidance, I can support safe, gradual progress and reduce the risk of ongoing issues.
Q: Do I need a brain scan if I’ve had a concussion?
While I do have access to brain imaging if necessary, it is not usually required and does not provide helpful information on how long recovery might take or what treatment is needed. The key is careful medical assessment and monitoring, which I provide throughout your recovery.
